Cornflower has a dilemma.

Their best friend Jasper has disappeared, which can mean only one thing. He must have ventured into the angelgrass which grows in impenetrable long stalks and thickets, encroaching on and around the borders of town. To enter the angelgrass unprepared means almost certain death, or worse…

Cornflower’s bloodwitch mother Hilde cryptically refuses her guidance, and their only other companions, the bog boys, aren’t prepared to go in after him either. But when Jasper suddenly reappears, only to vanish into the angelgrass once more, long buried secrets threaten to destroy everything Cornflower has ever known.
