FAQ

Shipping and Orders FAQ

We are posting orders on an approximately weekly basis. That means, orders are batched and shipped out (at least) one day a week. This means that potentially, your order may ship out up to two weeks after it is placed (if it is too late to include it in that week’s batch for example).

Regarding order cancellations, we can cancel and refund orders within a limited timeframe, but there is a mandatory 10% restocking fee that is deducted from the refund to cover transaction fees and material costs associated with the order. Once shipped, in general orders can no longer be modified or cancelled.

Please check your shipping address when ordering, it is difficult and in general may not be possible for me to change this after your order is placed.

If orders are returned by the post office due to incorrect address etc, then I will attempt to contact you. If the books are shipped again there will be an additional separate shipping bill invoiced to cover the second shipment, otherwise they will be refunded minus restocking fee.

We ship domestically using USPS media mail, and internationally to most countries (anywhere USPS ships to). Please note that we do NOT set shipping costs on our orders. We charge based on the actual rate from the post office. The order shipping fee is an approximation based on the post office rates, material and labor costs of order packing, and the transaction fee levied by online payment processors.

Submissions FAQ

Until further notice, Glacier Bay Books does not have an open submissions policy at this time. Glacier Bay is a very small publishing outfit, and I do not have the capacity to take on additional work. That said, we still occasionally receive queries regarding submissions. If you still wish / intend to submit work for consideration then here are some points for consideration:

  • Submissions should include the work, or at least samples of the work, for consideration. However they should not include source / full resolution data.
  • If you insist on submitting work, please familiarize yourself with the work and authors Glacier Bay already publishes. Submissions are most likely to be successful if they fit into the kind of works that we are already publishing.
  • Glacier Bay Books is a small publisher run by one person, and unfortunately I cannot guarantee that I will be able to respond to submissions emails.

The guidelines provided here are helpful suggestions that may apply when submitting work to other publishers as well.
